Chile, after 10 years, is set to host again the Adventure Travel World Summit (ATWS) in October 2025, an internationally renowned event organized by the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA). The summit will bring together industry leaders, tourism operators, and environmental advocates from across the globe to discuss sustainable practices, innovations, and the future of adventure tourism. This is a significant opportunity for Chile's tourism sector, especially for destinations like Chiloé, known for its unparalleled natural beauty and vibrant culture.
At Chiloé Natural, we are excited to announce our active role in this monumental event. As part of Fedetur (the Chilean Federation of Tourism Companies) and a founding member of the Cluster de Turismo de Aventura y Naturaleza, our team will contribute directly to the organization and execution of some of the summit’s activities. Our participation is an opportunity to showcase Chiloe and the Lake District's distinct offerings to a global audience, highlighting our commitment to sustainable and responsible tourism.
Chiloé Natural’s Role in the Summit
As active members of Chile’s tourism industry and hosts of Chiloé’s natural and cultural heritage, Chiloé Natural is uniquely positioned to bring local perspectives to the international stage. Through our participation, we aim to:
Promote Sustainable Adventure Tourism: We’ll be sharing insights and best practices that have made Chiloé Natural a leader in eco-friendly and community-centered tourism. From our partnerships with local communities to our initiatives in preserving the native flora and fauna, we’re eager to showcase our approach to sustainable tourism.
Collaborate with Global Leaders: The summit presents a valuable networking opportunity, allowing us to connect with adventure travel operators, investors, and tourism boards from around the world. We’ll engage in workshops, seminars, and discussions on emerging trends, helping to position Chiloé as a leading destination for adventure tourism in Chile.
Showcase Chiloé’s and the Lake District Unique Attractions: With our deep knowledge of Chiloé, we’ll be assisting in organizing a PSA (Pre Summit Adventure) and experiences after the event in the region. Attendees will have the chance to explore our breathtaking landscapes, from the mystical rainforests and rugged coastlines to the welcoming local culture that defines Chiloé and the Lake District.
Advocate for Local Communities and Conservation: As the summit aligns with our mission to foster responsible tourism, we’ll emphasize the importance of preserving Chiloé’s cultural and natural heritage. By participating in panels and workshops, we’ll discuss strategies for conserving biodiversity while supporting local communities’ well-being.
Why the Summit Matters for Chiloé
